New to Yoga?

What should I wear?

Most people wear loose clothing that is easy to move around in. 

Sweat pants and a t-shirt are perfectly normal.  Shorts or leggings and a tank top are also common. 

If you have long hair, bring something to tie it back with so it doesn't tickle your face.

Most people don't wear socks when they practice yoga.  Bare feet help stabilize your body in different postures.

What can I expect?

2-3 minutes of quiet meditation

2-3 minutes of focused breathing (pranayama)

55 (+/-) minutes of flowing (vinyasa-style) yoga postures (called "asanas") that develop strength, flexibility, balance, focus, and inner peace.
 

Each class includes a variety of asanas, including standing, seated, twisting, and inversion asanas.

The teacher will offer gentle, moderate, or challenging variations of different asanas.  Do the variation you're most comfortable with!
What should I bring?

Bring your own yoga mat, if you have one.  If not, use one of ours.  (Supplies are limited.) 

Many participants bring a bottle of water.

A towel can be helpful if you tend to perspire a lot.

810 Studio has bathrooms and a changing area if you need them.
